Quote of the Day, Maybe the Year

Have you ever been sent a quote or short statement that speaks to you in such a way that you feel compelled to write it down and keep it close? Here’s one for you today:

“When someone tries to provoke you, don’t be provoked. When someone isn’t even trying to provoke you but you feel provoked anyway, don’t be provoked. When your opponents are trying to get you to talk about something, it’s probably because you shouldn’t. You don’t have to respond to everything. You can decide what your agenda is, and what your message is, and do your best to focus on that.” (Tom Hamilton’s words, via this Helen Lewis newsletter)

If you’re like me, it’s easy to be provoked, distracted, and thrown off the right path. Stay focused. Own your time. And your sanity.
